Message from the President February.2021
Reskilling ourselves
For 2021 New Year's Address, I chose as my message "Shared Growth & Prosperity," the MEITEC Group's Management Concept. Management Concept is a clear statement of the ideal image sought by a company. Are all of you, as employees of the MEITEC Group, acting based on “Mutual Growth & Prosperity” in your daily work?
As its basic policy, the Company has roles and responsibilities to coexist and thrive with society, clients and people all around the world , of course employees. Moreover, based on the recognition of this policy among all employees engaging in the Company’s operating activities, we believe that our essential mission are to create the products and services required by society in cooperation with our clients in the manufacturing industry, using all available technologies. Precisely because everything is transforming rapidly and significantly in today’s society, such as decarbonization, automation of things, contactlessness and digital society, we must constantly monitor these transformation trends and evolve so that we can properly respond to them. I would like to call again for your attention that the purpose of implementing “The Transformation,” the theme of the current Mid-Term Management Plan, is to achieve "Shared Growth & Prosperity."
I would also like to convey one more thing to all of you. That is “Reskilling ourselves." "Reskilling" means to develop new skills and train for a different job. I think that everyone is now required to go through this process. In particular, DX (digital transformation), which is appearing in the media daily now, is set to significantly reshape society, industry and the way we live. For example, if automobiles change from machines mainly consisting of hardware to electronic devices primarily made of software in the near future, and moreover to service content, how many of the approximately 5.5 million workers who are said to be connected with the automobile industry will be able to continue to work? A way for us to continue to actively participate in this new society is to quickly reskill ourselves and acquire the capabilities and skills to respond to changes in the new era.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have been supporting the Company under the extremely severe and painful circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In this chaotic era, the Company will foster an environment that supports all employees to ensure that you can feel at ease at work. I urge all of you again to reskill, broaden the engineering fields in which you can thrive and together continue to achieve Shared Growth & Prosperity.
