Message from the President April.2023

The new fiscal year has begun.

April is a season characterized by a range of events in which people start new lives such as becoming a working member of society or enrolling in school. It’s the time of year again when, like other companies, we welcome many new recruits while starting our business activities for the new fiscal year. Notably, FY2023 is the first year of the Meitec Group Mid-Term Management Plan 2023-2025. I ask that all employees proactively take on challenges as one with a view toward the creation of new value.

Our SYORYU internal newsletter published in April 2023 includes a feature article with the theme, "Now is the time to capture trends and take on challenges." Based on interviews of approximately 30 employees who are always willing to put the concept of thinking and acting into practice, the newsletter highlights how they stay up to date on the global market and technology trends and how important they believe it is for them to take on challenges. It also features a discussion by three engineer career advisers regarding the engineer profiles that are being looked for today in each technological field. The article is full of elements that you are encouraged to consider in the development of your careers to meet market needs. I strongly hope that it will inspire you to take on challenges now.

In addition, the feature article in the spring issue includes a questionnaire for employees about their daily efforts to gather information about technology and market trends, etc. As we live in an information-oriented society today, we are inclined to think that information can be gleaned effortlessly using our eyes and ears. However, this is not what we call information gathering. Information gathering should be treated as an effort to select valuable information purposefully and input it into your brain. The exact amount of time that you should spend gathering information and the depth of this information may differ from one person to another. Having said that, it is very important that you work on information gathering with curiosity and inquisitiveness to at least increase client satisfaction and simultaneously enhance your career going forward.

Looking ahead to the three years of the Meitec Group Mid-Term Management Plan 2023-2025 that we have just started, I expect that you will spare no effort to leverage the social and technological trends that continue to change and evolve and contribute to solving social issues together with clients while also continuing to have pride as professionals.
