First, We would like to express our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024, which occurred on New Year's Day.
We sincerely hope for the earliest possible restoration of the affected areas.
I would like to wish everyone a happy New Year.
I am happy to welcome with all of you the new year, the Year of the Dragon, filled with hopes and aspirations.
The past year was unpredictable and unstable, as we emerged from a three-year global pandemic but continued to face tense global conditions with new geopolitical factors, as well as the impact on the domestic economy of the persistently weak yen. However, there were some positive signs in the domestic economy, with the economy judged to be "recovering at a moderate pace" for the first time in three years and three months.
At COP28, held at the end of last year, it was agreed to triple renewable energy, double energy efficiency, and accelerate the shift away from fossil fuels by 2030. Policies and plans have been presented to realize sustainable societies worldwide, and initiatives in each country are accelerating.
Policies such as "Accelerate specific efforts" and "Allow diverse approaches" are included, and our clients are also accelerating their development of technologies and their creation of new products and services. The MEITEC Group must continue to contribute to the creation of new added value as "a professional group that plays a core role in manufacturing through its People and Technology."
That is why each of us must always keep up with trends in the market and technologies and respond quickly to our clients' requests.
In the second year of the Mid-Term Management Plan, M2CX, we will work on transforming the two elements of The Core, the foundations of our company, and contribute to realizing a sustainable society through technology development initiatives for our clients.
